For the first conversation
Three details.
A clearer picture.
You do not need to know the material or the solution. Describe what you already know.
- When does it appear? After rain, continuously or under particular conditions? Mention where you see the mark.
- What is on the roof?If you know, note the previous work and roughly when it was done. Saying “not sure” is fine.
- What can you show us?A photo of the mark from a safe location helps. You do not need to go onto the roof to make an enquiry.
Photos are optional. The cause needs a site inspection.
Describe when the problem appears
Mention whether the mark appears after rain, where it is and what material is on the roof. This helps the initial assessment but does not replace a site inspection.
Details that need attention
Drains, joints, parapets and pipe penetrations are part of the overall assessment. The condition and compatibility of the existing coating affect the system choice.
Waterproofing or thermal insulation?
Waterproofing protects against water. Thermal insulation concerns heat transfer. If both are needed, they should be treated as separate requirements in the quote.
What to get in writing
Area, preparation, products, application system, vulnerable details and any warranty terms should be specified. We do not promise a protection lifespan without a defined system and inspection.
Roof insulation or waterproofing: define the problem
In Greek, “monosi taratsas” can refer to different roof-related needs. Water after rain, overheating in summer and winter heat loss do not automatically share one solution. Explain when the symptom occurs, whether water ponds and what previous work has been done. Tiles, an existing membrane or a liquid-applied coating affect the assessment. Photographs taken from a safe position help communication, but cannot establish the path of a leak on their own.
Liquid-applied waterproofing, membranes and detailing
Liquid-applied systems and membranes are categories of solutions, not interchangeable products for every flat roof. Selection depends on the substrate, previous coating, use and conditions. Drains, parapets, equipment bases and service penetrations need specific application details. Ask how these points will be treated, what preparation is included and which conditions the products require. Any warranty should identify the system, scope and maintenance conditions. A material category alone cannot establish a reliable service life.
Useful answers
Will painting only the ceiling stop the damp?
Paint does not address the source of water ingress. The cause needs to be checked and addressed first.
Can I send an urgent enquiry?
You can state your preferred timing, but the form is not an emergency response service and does not confirm immediate availability.
